What is the difference between an interior designer and a contractor?

An interior designer plans the space: layout, materials, lighting and how the room will look and work, usually shown in drawings and 3D renderings. A contractor builds it: demolition, plumbing, electrical, cabinets, tile and permits. In Nevada, construction requires a licensed contractor. A designer's package is what the contractor prices and builds from.

Can my own contractor build from your design package?

Yes. That is exactly how it works. The design package gives your licensed contractor measured layouts, every material and fixture selection, a lighting plan and 3D renderings, so they can price and build the room as designed. You can send it to several contractors for comparable bids. We do not build, so you choose the contractor.

No. LV Home Concept is a design-only studio and holds no contractor license. We plan the layout, choose materials, design the lighting and produce 3D renderings, then hand a complete design package to your own licensed contractor, who prices, permits and builds it. You can verify any Nevada contractor's license at nscb.nv.gov.

Keeping design and construction separate means our advice is independent: we are not selling you cabinets or labor. It also means you choose the builder. Before you sign with anyone, check their license with the Nevada State Contractors Board.
